The show “Over the Wall” comes back to Venice on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Mauerfall

Between November 7th and 18th 2009 Scuola Grande di San Teodoro – Campo San Salvador
The show, made by artworks of great artistic and emotional effect, results from the educational project “1989 Berliner Mauer 2009. What hopes do young people in Europe have?” realized by and for the pupils of the Liceo Classico Giovanni Paolo I (secondary school with an emphasis on humanities) in Venice and related in the catalogue published by Marcianum Press.
Yet opened in June at the seat of the Marcianum Institute, Dorsoduro 1, Venice, at the presence of Patriarch Angelo Scola, and afterwards mounted at Melori & Rosenberg Gallery in the Ghetto of Venice in September, the show “Over the Wall” was hosted in Germany at CJD Christophorusschule Droyssig last October. Now, during the days of the commemoration of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, it comes back to Venice. Then, it will proceed to other cities.
In the Opening, planned on Saturday Nov. 7th at 12 pm at Scuola Grande di San Teodoro some important people will take part: Luana Zanella, Culture Councillor of the City of Venice, Paola Nardini, Honorary Counsil of the Federal Republic of Germany in Venice; Brian E. Ferme, Chancelor of Studium Generale Marcianum.
“Over the Wall. Not to disregard the tragedy nor to forget the wounds, but to become the main characters of our history, winning the non involment which divides people and building a future of hopes”, with these words Don Natalino Bonazza, headmaster of the Liceo and creator of the project, opens the catalogue of the show.
